AI & Your Books

AI and Your Books: Where We Stand and What's Coming

AI is changing a lot of industries right now and financial services is one of them. Here's our honest take on where things are and where we think they're headed with bookkeeping specifically.

We've been in the trenches — testing tools, going through training, and getting a real feel for what's actually out there. And here's the truth: a lot of what's available right now isn't ready to handle real financial data responsibly. So we're not rushing anything.

But we're paying close attention. When the right tools are ready to deploy safely, we'll already know how to use them. Our clients won't have to figure any of this out. That's on us.

What this means practically

As these tools mature, they'll take on more of the routine bookkeeping work. That frees our team up to focus on what matters most — accuracy, clean month-end closes, supporting your staff when questions come up, and working on projects that help you get more out of your books, that we otherwise could not have done in the past.

We're also building out expanded services down the road. Custom reporting. Light fractional CFO support. We're still working through exactly what that looks like, but we think it's going to be genuinely useful for our clients.

The part we're most excited about

Most businesses have someone on the team who splits their time between bookkeeping and everything else — answering financial questions while also trying to keep the operation running. That's a tough spot to be in.

As AI allows us to take more off that person's plate, they get to shift their focus back to where you actually need them: supporting day-to-day operations and helping the business grow. That's a real win.

Our commitment

We'll keep learning, keep testing, and keep finding ways to bring more value to your books — carefully and thoughtfully. No shortcuts with your financial data.

With all the new tools, the same deal remains; we handle the books. You run the business.
